CoHabit is operated by Umit Gokmen.

CoHabit provides a mobile app that helps users track habits, join shared habits, and collaborate with other members. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and what choices you have.

By using CoHabit, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account and profile information

• Email address
• Username
• Password authentication data handled through Firebase Authentication
• Profile photo URL, if you choose to add one
• Basic sign-in information from a third-party identity provider if such a sign-in method is offered

Habit and collaboration data

• Habit-related data, including habit names, settings, progress records, and user-generated content such as notes
• Collaboration data, including shared habit membership, participation, and related interactions

App settings and local device data

• Language preference
• Notification preferences
• Convenience data stored locally on your device to support app functionality

Diagnostic and technical data

• App version and backend version information
• Crash and stability information if crash reporting is enabled
• Basic technical logs needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service

2. How We Use Information

• Create and manage user accounts
• Authenticate users and help keep accounts secure
• Let users create, join, and manage habits
• Support collaboration features such as shared habits, invites, member views, and assignments
• Save user settings such as language and notification preferences
• Improve reliability, debug issues, and maintain service performance
• Protect the app and users against abuse, misuse, and unauthorized access

3. How Information Is Shared

We do not sell personal information.

• With service providers that help us operate the app, such as Firebase services
• With other members of a shared habit where the collaboration feature requires it
• When required by law, regulation, legal process, or valid governmental request
• To protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of CoHabit, our users, or the public

4. Shared Habit Visibility

If you join a shared habit, some of your information may become visible to other members of that habit so the feature can work as intended. This may include:

• Your username
• Your membership in the habit
• Your participation and habit-related activity relevant to that habit

If invite codes are used, they may be shared by the habit owner with people they want to invite.

5. Data Storage and Security

We use Firebase services to store and process app data. We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials.

6. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as it is needed to provide the app and operate the service, including for security, troubleshooting, recordkeeping, and legal compliance purposes.

Some information may remain in backups, logs, or internal records for a limited time.

7. Your Rights

You may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing.

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at ugkmen@gmail.com.

When you request deletion, your personal data will be deleted or irreversibly anonymized. Some anonymized data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained for analytics and service improvement purposes.

8. Your Choices

• Update your username, email address, password, or profile photo
• Edit or remove content you create in the app
• Change notification preferences
• Change language preferences

If you stop using the app, locally stored data on your device may remain until you remove the app data or uninstall the app.

9. Children's Privacy

CoHabit is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. International Processing

Your information may be processed and stored on systems operated by our service providers in countries other than your own.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may revise the effective date above and update the policy made available to users.
